Most of us, consider moving to urbanized cities and hustling ourselves in extreme environments to be the best way of living in this present time.
Prioritizing our work like it’s the only thing that keeps us alive.
Forgetting more important things that keep the balance to a healthy life.
Last year, I remember having to get up early for school and then go straight from there to work without getting enough rest. Yes, I have to do at least two part-time jobs from Sunday through Saturday, commuting from the North to the Southern part of Tokyo, taking no day off, working like clockwork⏱, just to make enough money to cover my bills. 💴
Keeping the demands and unclear expectations from my clients or boss, hitting the deadlines on an unrealistic schedule, (it is insane) while keeping my school grades and performance that is only good enough to meet the school’s minimum requirement for passing.
I was in a Music Studio recording and writing songs, and doing freelance as a Videographer. At first, I initially reassured myself, because it is my passion and I genuinely love doing these things, “I’m gonna survive this”. And yeah, for sure, not for so long I wasn’t able to keep up myself with that extreme lifestyle.
I was frustrated with myself for having issues with even the most basic things in life.
I found it difficult to perform the things I used to enjoy and extreme procrastination; delaying activities and would take longer to complete them than usual. And most of the time, despite getting enough sleep, I still felt exhausted and found it difficult to get out of bed.
It was the opposite of myself compared to last year’s being so productive and passionate.
I decided to create a routine for me to break the cycle that leads to burnout. Honestly, it wasn’t easy and I failed myself many times, but as a commitment to change, I continue to strive to challenge myself to become the best version of myself.
